Acer at CES 2018 Upgraded sleek Swift 7 Ultrabook – By Acer
Acer seems to be one of the first tech companies to make strong waves for 2018, by launching an upgraded version of its sleek Swift 7 Ultrabook. The Acer Swift 7 (2018) is now the new ‘world’s thinnest laptop’, and packs built-in 4G LTE connectivity. Pricing range will comfortably clear the $1000 mark when it becomes available later in 2018, making it a strong rival to the the new 2018 Dell XPS 13.
The 2018 iteration is now even thinner than before; down from 10mm to 8.98mm. That’s comfortably enough to make it the thinnest computer in the world, Acer asserts. The display, which maintains its 1080p resolution, a Gorilla Glass-coated touch surface and, at 14-inches, is now larger than its 13.3-inch predecessor. 2018 version of Swift maintains the previous-generation Intel Core i7 processor (Kaby Lake). Why Acer decided to not to upgrade to latest 8th-gen chips is the question. But There’s also 10-hours of battery life; up from the estimated 9-hour cell on last year’s model. Acer is also packing in 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD.
