Sony PlayStation 5 (PS 5) To Be Announced in a Few Weeks at E3

PS 5 Latest Leaks and Rumors

Although the Xbox One X is very powerful for a $500 gaming console, it’s not even close to the Sony PlayStation 5 which is going to feature Ray Tracing, Zen 2, and Navi. The PS 5 and Xbox One X are going to be the first gaming consoles that feature 7nm hardware.

PS 5 Specs

The PlayStation 5 is confirmed to feature AMD’s next-gen 7nm Zen 2 and Navi as well as ray tracing technology. The PS 5 is going to feature an SSD that was officially confirmed to be faster then any SSD that you can buy for your PC. We also know that the PS 5 is going to support 8k and backward compatibility. 

Now, let’s talk about the rumors. The latest rumors claim that the PlayStation 5 is going to feature an 8 core/16 threads next-gen 7nm AMD Zen 2 CPU and a costume 7nm Navi APU.  The Zen 2 CPU in the PlayStation 5 is rumored to feature 8 cores and 16 threads, 12 Teraflops of performance, and 16 GB of shared RAM. For comparison, the Xbox One X’s GPU features 6 Tflops of performance which means that the PlayStation 5 is going to be about 2 times as powerful as the Xbox One X. 

PS 5 Going to be Announced at E3

Right now, the latest rumors claim that the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to be announced at E3 2019 along with the Microsoft Xbox One X. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact release date right now. Sony has officially confirmed that the PS 5 isn’t going to be released at E3 but, thanks to rumors we do know that the PlayStation 5 is probably going to be released around 2020. Analysts predict that the PS 5 is most likely going to be released around the 2019 holiday season to get some of the holiday sales.
