Both Nvidia and AMD GPUs have been very expensive recently and they are pretty equal. It has been very expensive to run triple-A games at 60 FPS ultra 4k. Right now the GPUs alone will cost you more than $2000 as you will need two GTX Titan XPs running at SLI. PC gamers have been playing their games at 1080p or 1440p for a very long time as most can’t pay $3000 for a PC but with Nvidia’s next generation of Graphics Cards, it seems like PC gamers are going to be able to play games at 4k 60 FPS for a relatively low price.

Let’s start off with the release date. According to recent rumors, the GTX 1180 is going to be released sometime in July with third-party versions coming out in August or September. These rumors have been getting spread around by Toms Hardware. Toms Hardware also wrote that Nvidia is going to send cards to partners around June 15th. The GTX 1180 is likely going to be released really soon so don’t buy a new GPU right now.

The price is one of the most important things that you would want to know. Until now GPUs that have been able to deliver 4k gaming at 60 FPS on triple-A games would cost you more than $1000 but according to recent rumors, the GTX 1180 will not be priced anywhere close to the Titan XP. The price is expected to be somewhere around $700-$800.

The Nvidia GTX 1180 is going to a pretty beefy card. Nvidia hasn’t announced the GTX 1180’s specs but this rumor is very credible as the specs were spotted in TechPowerUp’s GPU database. The GTX 1180 is expected to be more powerful than the Titan XP a $1,200 GPU. If TechPowerUp’s leak is real then the GTX 1180 is going to have 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and 13 Teraflops. The GTX 1080 has 2,560 CUDA cores, 160 TMUs, 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM and 8.7 teraflops.
